Vegas Baby, Vegas

Michael and I never, and I mean NEVER, go on vacation, just the two of us. Last time was our long weekend to Savannah, GA when we got married. Needless to say, we were well overdue for a trip! My mom was kind enough to fly up on short notice to watch the kids, and Michael and I flew out to Las Vegas to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary (can you believe we've been married for that long!!?!?) Below are some pics of the view of our hotel. We stayed at the Wynn. I just needed to mention that we were celebrating our 10 year anniversary and we got an upgraded room with a view (ok, really we had to pay a little more for that).

thats the big fountain on the ground floor of our hotel.

Thats the Palazzo which was right next to our hotel.

Another view from our hotel room. Couldn't get any night pics because the flash kept reflecting off of the window...

First day we spent all day walking the strip (and enjoying some light 'refreshment'). Since I'm working on my third spot of skin cancer (yea.....) and I forgot my sunblock (wonder why I have such problems with my skin?!?) I spent the afternoon with my hoodie up. Not very stylish, but it did the trick... "Dry Heat" or not, it was VERY hot in Vegas.

The MGM Grand actually has real lions on display. They have tunnel you can walk through and look up at the big cats....

We planned a special dinner at Michael Mina at the Bellagio on our 2nd day there. Before our meal, we wandered around the hotel. Here is a massive chocolate fountain. YUM!

Here's the beautiful indoor garden they have. They change the flowers out every couple of months.

Here's a pic of Michael as we waited for our dinner reservations. I should have known by that mischevious look on his face that we'd be up for a CRAZY evening....

Here's the dessert they gave us. How sweet (literally and figuratively)!

The Bellagio fountains at night. We finished up eating and were full and tired. Hadn't yet adjusted to the time change. We planned on heading back to the hotel to crash, but the taxi line was so long we decided to walk a bit. Well..... that was the beginning of the end.... On the way home, we walked past a casino that was having a karaoke night and cheap drinks for sale.

flash forward an hour or two, and Michael was on the stage singing "I'm Just a Gigolo" (with a casino 'regular' playing air guitar along to Michael's singing). The rest of the evening spiraled downward to more karaoke, meeting a bunch of people from all over the world, Karen sneaking away to try her hand at blackjack......

and ultimately leaving one casino to go to another with a group we met at the first place (at 4am, mind you) so that Michael could learn how to play beer pong. (If you're wondering what beer pong is, just meld ping pong with beer, kind of....) So much for an early evening.....
You know what they say, "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas" (unless you post it on your blog...)
